Review: Faniel & Fils - Les Secrets d'Andre Brut - 2011
Faniel & Fils logo
Submitted: 27th April 2024

The 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir label.

Nice design work re bottle with inscribed branding and rope replacing wire cage.

Small producer in lower Montagne de Reims (just north of Hautvillers). Current winemaker is Mathieu.

Plenty of mid sized bubbles. Bright yellow colour.

Plenty of aromas showing yellow fruits, white floral, apples and the 9 years of lees aging giving rich pastry notes. Disgorged Jan 2021.

Flavours are heavy on the lees expression with mellowed yellow fruits and floral. Not overly acidic in style, a relaxed glass of Champagne with a bold character. Age no more than 5 more years?
